Crocheting the Ocean, 2010

This scene was opened as a tableau vivant event in my studio as part of Atlanta Celebrates Photography. The ocean took me 8 months to crochet and I made the boat from paper mache. There are over 30 horseshoe crabs in this scene, as well as an octopus. I am incredibly pleased to say that one of my favorite writers, Kim Parko, wrote a story for this image called "Crocheting the Ocean."
